OBSCURA Festival of Photography is Malaysia’s largest photography festival and has grown to be one of the most prominent photography festivals in the Asia Pacific. To date, the festival has exhibited over 900 photographic works from local and international artists and attracted over 60,000 visitors from all over the world. Their flagship programmes include the artist-in-residence programmes as well as the year-long masterclass. OBSCURA Festival has also been responsible for over 40 forums and discussions on inclusivity. They have curated shows for other international photography festivals, including Photo Zürich, The Jeon-Ju International Photography Festival and the Chennai Photo Biennale.

Events, both ticketed and free to attend are scattered in and around George Town, a UNESCO listed destination. The festival has events spread over 6 weekends, Friday 28 July to Sunday July 30 will be the opening weekend.
